Meet our Founders – Chris and Ythy Farnsworth
We are a husband and wife team that is deeply passionate about mindful movement and mindfulness and the healing role it can play in our lives. We left careers in healthcare (Tee) and law (Chris) to go all-in and chase our small business dreams together.
Chris’s passion stems from a dedication to Pilates that helped him recover from a serious accident where he fractured vertebrae and ruptured discs in his thoracic spine. Tee is a lifelong yogi and fell in love with Pilates while preparing for the birth of our first child. One of their first dates was on their yoga mats.
We started LiveMetta in 2018 with the mission of providing meaningful mindful movement experiences while building teams and communities centered on the principle of loving-kindness, or “metta.”
When we’re not floating about from studio to studio, we’re fulfilling the most rewarding role in our lives – being parents to our children, Yvy (3 years old), Bobby (1 year old), and Maverick (63 doggy years).
Our Philosophy
At LiveMetta we think “wellness” is as simple as being grounded in the present moment. Everything that you do from a wellness perspective should have the intention of helping you spend as much time there as possible.
To do so, you must take care of your body and mind, but also foster a sense of connectedness to the world around you. While yoga and Pilates are incredibly useful practices, there is a lot more to the picture. A loving-kindness mindset is a beautiful place to start.
We want to help you be the strongest version of you, so when the stressors of life are at their highest, you’re still able to tap into that sense of equanimity and weather the storm. That is wellness to us.
